Frame Features:
A from-the-ground-up re-think of our hardtail mountain bikes. First, we’re introducing size increments that ensure we hit every type of rider. Now you can get closer to having a custom fit between a size structure (S, M, L,) that’s consistent across our entire range of mountain bikes. New aspects of the geometry are related to the ride and handling, with slacker head tube angles, lower bottom brackets and shorter chainstays. The result is a more capable bike for more challenging terrain, without comprising speed and efficiency when under power.

Enduro, MTB Trail and Commuter bikes designed for the beautiful ones among us. With careful detail to frame geometry, overall bike weight, and components that best fit the needs of female riders, you’ll find there’s a bike for every type of cyclist.
Kona Race Light 7005/6061 are lighter, more performance-oriented fabrications of our 7005/6061 tubing. Designed to meet Kona’s discerning race specifications, Race Light 7005/6061 use custom butting to create thicker tubes at weld areas and important parts of the frame, providing incredible strength and torsional integrity to the feel of the ride. We remove wall thickness in other parts of the frameset to lighten up the bike, giving the perfect balance between quickness and stiffness.

The major benefit of an internal headset, whereby the bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable, is the extra layer of protection it provides the bearings against the elements. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.
More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing positive steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it’s needed.

The benefits of the 27.5-inch wheel are simple: they roll over obstacles and track better than 26-inch wheels, but are more maneuverable and nimble than 29-inch ones. They are, quite literally, the best of both worlds, effectively increasing overall performance and rider confidence.
